JACKSON, Tenn. — The Home Depot’s 2015 “Retool Your School” grant program is back, and Lane College is competing for the cash. The grant is worth $50,000, and the winner is selected in part by the number of votes received. We talked to Richard Donnell, vice president for institutional advancement, who shared with us what they expect to do with the money if they won. “We would use it to improve Lane Field where we play all our football games, and we will paint it, renovate the restrooms as well as re-sod the field,” Donnell said. Lane is competing against 60 other historically black colleges and universities. You can vote for Lane by clicking the Retool Your School story on the Seen on 7 section of our website. The winner will be announced April 20.
