DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Job seekers make their way to downtown Jackson Thursday as more than a hundred employers crowded the Carl Perkins Civic Center ready to hire. The job fair was hosted by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Along with employers, officials with the Career Coach were on hand to answer questions and offer free help with resumes. Job seekers said they were thrilled at how convenient Thursdays’ event made their job search. “Rather than having to contact each one of these prospective employers yourself, they’re all right here so you can turn in your application, turn in your resume right here,” job seeker Sheri Wedding said. “You don’t have to go to the company. You don’t have to go to all the websites.” For other jobs across the state of Tennessee, the Department of Labor has resources online.
