Woman of the Year honored in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Altrusa International of Jackson honored the Woman of the Year on Monday night. Virginia Conger became the 63rd winner of the honored distinction. Conger lives in West Tennessee and is a graduate of Union University. She also is a longtime educator, teaching in the Jackson-Madison County system for 27 years. “Well, it’s just a great honor, about the greatest honor,” Conger said. “I’ve been here since 1948 and love Jackson, and it’s just great to be honored by my fellow Jacksonians.” Conger was honored for her community involvement and volunteer efforts.
