DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was formally charged Wednesday in an alleged January theft from a Jackson apartment. Angel Barnes is charged with theft of property over $500. A man reported a theft to Jackson police on Jan. 6, telling officers an acquaintance he knew only as “Angel” had been in his Casey Jones Lane apartment, an affidavit states. The man left the woman alone and went to the store, and found several items to be missing when he returned, including a Sony PlayStation 4, a laptop computer, a book of personal checks and a duffel bag. He estimated the total value of the missing property at more than $900. The man later identified Barnes as the woman who had been in the apartment. Barnes is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
