JACKSON, Tenn. — Businesses and volunteers were honored Wednesday afternoon at the Jackson Chambers’ Annual Celebration. Around 400 people showed up at the yearly meeting for what’s called “The Celebration.” Honoring a year of great business brought to the Jackson community with new plants and the jobs that came with them, members of the chamber are excited about what comes next for the economic side of the city. “In the chamber and economic development business, you look at what we do on the program side and also on the economic development side,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president and CEO of the Jackson Chamber. “This year, both of those functioned at the highest level we’ve ever seen.” Some of Wednesday’s honorees included Regional Inter-Faith Association as nonprofit of the year and Heath Williams from George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home as Volunteer of the Year.
