NORTH JACKSON — April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse got a big donation Friday to help provide free services. Modern Woodmen of America presented a check for $20,000 to the center. Modern Woodmen has partnered with the center for a number of years. Managing partner at Modern Woodmen Brad Keltner said this donation goes along with their mission to improve the quality of life for their members. “Partnering with organizations like the Carl Perkins Center really helps make our community a better place, and to be able to have a small part in that, to be able to make a difference, it’s a really, really good feeling,” Keltner said. The $20,000 is designated to help fund direct services for clients and families in Chester, Henderson and Madison counties.
