Jackson CPA fined for performing work without permit

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local certified public accountant has been fined by the state for allegedly offering accounting services without a permit. Jay G. Osborn, of Jackson, has been fined $500 for supposedly offering services without a required permit, according to a release from the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. An investigation by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance revealed Osborn had been completing CPA work without an accounting firm permit, according to the release.
