Teenager shot, suspects still on the loose

Dyersburg, Tenn. — A shooting in Dyersburg injures a teen and sends him to a Memphis hospital by helicopter, according to police. Dyersburg police said they were called around 4 p.m. Wednesday to an area off Wilson Circle and Upper Finley Road. After speaking with witnesses, they learned two suspects had run from the scene, leaving the sole 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police said the teenager kept quiet on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Witnesses told police one of the suspects was a heavyset black man and the other was much smaller and appeared to be a younger black man, possibly a teenager. The victim was released from the hospital over the weekend but still hasn’t provided much information to the police. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Dyersburg Police Department.
