JACKSON, Tenn. — The sheriff’s office has identified a body found Thursday morning in Muse Park. The body has been identified as that of 35-year-old William Jobe Jr., according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The body was found by a deputy just before 9 a.m. inside a silver 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in the section of the park north of North Parkway as deputies were investigating a missing person report, according to sheriff’s office spokesperson Tom Mapes. The sheriff’s office initially received the missing person report just after 8 a.m., Mapes said. Jobe was supposed to start a new job Wednesday at Walmart in north Jackson but never reported to work or returned home, Mapes said. The body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy, and Mapes said results should be available in a day or two. There is no evidence of foul play at this time, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Mapes would not comment on whether there were visible injuries or an apparent cause of death. When asked if a weapon was found in the vehicle, Mapes would only say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who has information or talked to Jobe Wednesday is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 731-423-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS (8477).
