JACKSON, Tenn. — Four more apartments are soon to be opened for West Tennesseans in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Saturday, volunteers got the building one step closer. Aspell Recovery Center says the house will soon have residents living inside, which is a place that previously was a crack house. The house was donated by Blurton Capitol, and was painted by more than 60 volunteers from First Baptist Martin Luther King, First Baptist N. Highland, and City Fellowship. “They came out and did some painting, clean-up, the inside and outside of this four-apartment house, which we’ll introduce to drug and alcohol-free individuals,” Ron Kirkland, a part of the Aspell Recovery Center Board said. The organization said the home will operate similar to Talbot Towers, which sits across the street. Residents who live in the home pay rent as long as they are drug and alcohol free.
