HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — As a West Tennessee community grieves the loss of a child killed Monday night in a UTV accident, her school also reacts. In the wake of 8-year-old Anna Morris’ death, Hardin County Director of Schools Michael Davis says faculty and staff at East Hardin Elementary School met Tuesday morning with counselors. He says volunteers, youth counselors and youth pastors were brought in to help the students. Anna was in the third grade. Davis says he learned the news during Monday night’s budget meeting. “It immediately made everybody very sad, and it was very, very hard to deal with, and the meeting at that point was pretty much over and several of us made our way to the emergency room,” Davis said. The school was set to begin TCAP testing Tuesday, but the state department granted permission to begin Wednesday instead.
