Two charged in thefts from Jackson home totaling more than $26K

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Two men appeared in Jackson court Thursday on charges stemming from alleged thefts of guns, guitars and other items from a Jackson home. A homeowner reported the thefts March 30. He told Jackson police two Les Paul Signature Series guitars, four handguns, jewelry and a women’s purse were taken from his Greensborough Drive residence while he was out of town, according to an affidavit. The total value of the stolen items is about $26,930, the document states. Investigators spoke with Chase Owen and Nathan Welch, who said they and another man left the home in the other man’s vehicle, according to the affidavit. They both told police they saw guns and guitars in the vehicle but didn’t know how they got there. Owen and Welch each is charged with theft of property over $10,000. The men’s bond was set at $5,000 each.
