BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A group of traveling journalists are making their way through West Tennessee in hopes of enticing more tourists to the Volunteer State. Fifteen journalists are traveling the area to sample the sounds and sights of West Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development hosted the group of reporters, bloggers and social media gurus in hopes of showcasing places such as Jammin’ at Mr. Jimmy’s in Brownsville. “I like to hear the different variation as we go from city to city,” said Rosalind Cumming-Yeates, a writer from Chicago. Representatives with the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center said it is Brownsville’s unique blue’s heritage that prompted the trip to Jammin’ at Mr. Jimmy’s. “Our hope is that they find us worthy of articles to have in their publications and magazines and newspaper that they write for,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, director of the heritage center. The group heads to Jackson on Friday as they continue their tour across Tennessee.
