MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Polls open Tuesday morning in the race for Jackson mayor and city council. Election commission officials were busy Monday preparing for voters. If early voting is any indication, Tuesday should be a busy one for poll workers. The race for mayor has turned into one of the biggest elections Jackson has ever seen. Before you head to the polls, elections officials say one thing will help speed up your time at the poll. “It’s important to have your documentation ready when you arrive at the precinct,” said Kim Buckley, administrator of elections. “That way you can go through the voting process hopefully with no delays.” That means your state or federally issued photo ID. Most people use their driver’s license. If you’re still unsure or your voting precinct, visit the Seen on 7 section of our website and looks for the “Voting info for Jackson Municipal Election” link.
