JACKSON, Tenn. — The Volunteer State ranks No. 4 in a recent list of the best states for business in 2015. The count was determined by an annual “Best and Worst States for Business” survey completed by CEOs for Chief Executive magazine. The executives who completed the survey favor pro-growth, low-tax states, according to a release from the magazine. Tennessee was down one notch from third in last year’s ranking. Texas remains the No. 1 state for business for the 11th year in a row, followed by Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. California ranked last in the survey, followed by New York, Illinois, New Jersey and Massachusetts. According to one CEO, “California and Oregon are essentially anti-business, whereas Texas and Tennessee do everything possible to make business comfortable and more successful.” To see the full results along with individual information on each state, find the link in the Seen on 7 section of our website.
