Woman charged with hitting husband in head with hammer

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was in Jackson City Court Friday after being accused of hitting her husband in the head with a hammer. Julie Ann Vogel faces one count of aggravated domestic assault. An officer was dispatched to her and her husband’s home on Henderson Road in reference to a domestic assault, according to court documents. Vogel’s husband told police he was lying in bed when she struck him in the head with a hammer. He said they had been having a verbal argument. Police say the man had a knot rising above his right eyebrow. Vogel’s bond is set at $5,000.
