DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson Beer Board revoked a local business’ beer license Tuesday morning after a show cause hearing. The board revoked the beer license for Pandora’s Box, a lounge and restaurant located at 62 Heritage Square. The board cited exceeding capacity of 515 during a March event, a fight that occurred on April 25 and concerns about performances held at the venue. The board granted the license Dec. 2. The board also cited activities at Pandora’s Box not consistent with the business owner’s description when he applied for a beer license, at which time the business was described as offering “fine dining” with “white tablecloths.” The Jackson fire marshal issued a misdemeanor citation March 29 for not posting an occupancy sign for the building. On April 15, the business owner, Reginald Hobson, pleaded guilty in environmental court to exceeding capacity. The business still has a liquor license, which is issued by the state, and therefore still can sell liquor.
