Jackson police ask public to ID man in Walmart thefts

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police are asking the public to help identify a man they say stole two TVs from Walmart in north Jackson. The man, described as a black male wearing a white T-shirt and glasses, entered the store April 27 and placed two TVs valued at $450 each in the garden center before exiting the building, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department. He then got into a white SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, drove to the rear of the store. Police say he and a second person of interest wearing a gray hoodie then loaded the TVs into the SUV. The total value of the stolen merchandise is $900. The second person of interest also caused about $600 worth of damages to the garden center by forcing entry, according to the release. Anyone who may be able to identify the man or has other information about the crime is asked to call the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS (8477).
