JACKSON, Tenn. — The Sally Beauty Supply chain confirmed Thursday a second data breach in just more than two years. The company notified customers earlier this month it is investigating reports of unusual activity on payment cards used at some of its U.S. stores. Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. would not talk about the scope of the breach but said they are working diligently to address the issue. Some consumers say it concerns them and that they check their bank accounts. “I call and keep up with my information and keep my receipts,” Frank Thomas Jr. said. “I keep my debit card receipts, my bank receipts — everything.” The company said customers will not be responsible for fraudulent charges that are promptly reported. People who have concerns can call a customer service hotline at 1-866-234-9442 or email customerserviceinquiry@sallybeauty.com.
