JACKSON, Tenn. — The king of blues, B.B. King, has passed away. The cause of his death is not yet known but he was reported to have been in poor health. He was one of the world’s best-selling blues artists, selling millions of records and winning a host of the industry’s biggest awards. WBBJ spoke with a local historian who says King was a defining blues man for generations. “He became an inspiration to everyone it seems, not only in music but in the personal activities of their life, and that contribution may never be surpassed,” said Henry Harrison, president of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. King was 89 years old.
