Man accused of hitting mother in head with chair appears in court

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused of hitting his mom with a chair appeared Friday in Jackson City Court. Thursday night, police were told Tavares Jones got into a fight, barging into his mother’s room and hitting her in the head with a belt. She also told officers Jones hit her in the stomach and across the head with a chair. He is charged with aggravated domestic assault and is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
