JPD: Man wanted by U.S. Marshals arrested during traffic stop

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police arrest a man during a traffic stop who was wanted on outstanding warrants by the U.S. Marshals Service. According to a Jackson Police Department spokesman, officers pulled over a car for a traffic stop on Paul Coffman Drive around 6 p.m. Tuesday. When officers approached the car, it took off. Officers then chased the car for a short time but were able to get it to stop near Hillcrest Baptist Church on Paul Coffman Drive. Investigators said Joseph Daniel Woodruff was taken into custody. They also found another adult and two juveniles inside the car. Woodruff was wanted by U.S. Marshals and is suspected in an armed robbery earlier this month in Jackson. There is no word at this time if he will face additional charges.
