Jackson policeman honored by local NAACP branch
JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson policeman has been honored with an award from the local branch of the NAACP. Sgt. Burkley Sain is the 2015 recipient of the David Carter Meritorious Service to the Branch Award. The award is presented annually to an NAACP member who is in good standing and who makes ongoing contributions to the branch, according to a release. The member must have brought honor and recognition while demonstrating the true volunteer spirit of a dedicated member of the branch, the release states.
