NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. – Everything is falling right into place for 11-year old Will Brown. The Jackson native is heading to the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina. “I want to be the best I can be, and I’d like to be on tour one day,” Brown said about his future golf aspirations. “And accomplish the Grand Slam.” The ambitious sixth grader will compete against more than 1200 kids from 40 countries at the World Championship in July. Brown says he’s ready for the big stage. “I like how it [golf] teaches you life lessons, and it kinda tests you to keep your composure and stuff like that,” explained Brown. Brown’s still has some years before he can qualify for a Major Championship. But his skills have caught the eye of a PGA golfer. “I’ve known who John Daly is for quite a while,” said Brown. The two met Arkansas during Brown’s U.S. Kids Little Rock Tour Championships victory. Daily saw Brown sink his second-ever hole in one. “It was a pretty neat experience,” Brown said about meeting Daily. “But also the one thing I didn’t like about it is that when I hit the hole in one, my cousin gave a big bear hug. He is quite embarrassing at times.” Brown hopes he scores more hole in ones in Pinehurst. He wants to known for more than his skills on the green. “I think it would be a good time to witness to people about Christ. That would be neat and knowing how God has blessed me.”
