STAR Center asks for votes for its ‘Arts-4-Autism’ program

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local nonprofit’s efforts to win $25,000 for one of its programs are winding down, but you still have time to help. The STAR Center’s “Arts-4-Autism” program was chosen from 5,000 causes submitted to be in the top 200. State Farm Insurance’s Neighborhood Assist Program donates $1 million to the top 40 submitted causes across the country. Thanks to votes submitted so far, as of late Tuesday night the STAR Center is in the top 40 at number 31. “And we certainly just ask that the citizens of Jackson and surrounding counties in West Tennessee to go to vote for us, and we will do the rest,” said Dave Bratcher, president of the STAR Center. Bratcher said the program has an activity every week and a two-week camp in the summer. You can vote 10 times a day through Wednesday.
