Man accused of threatening to kill girlfriend with sword

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man went before a judge Tuesday in Jackson City Court on accusations of assaulting his girlfriend on two separate occasions and at one point threatening to kill her with a sword. Michael Daniel Webb faces two counts of aggravated domestic assault after allegedly attacking the woman and at one point threatening to kill her, according to court documents. Webb is accused of attacking the woman May 17 after accusing her of cheating. He allegedly hit her with his fists, pushed her to the ground, kicked her and strangled her, according to an affidavit. He is accused of assaulting the woman again on June 6. Court papers say the couple were lying in bed when Webb became angry about a past event and attacked the woman. He is accused of hitting her with his fists, strangling her and then returning to the room with a sword and threatening to kill her, according to an affidavit. Webb is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. The judge also issued a no-contact order.
