Sheriff: No serious injuries in crash involving tractor-trailer on I-40

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies say no one is seriously injured following a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40. The wreck occurred near Exit 133 on I-40 in Benton County near Birdsong where a pickup truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. The tractor-trailer was leaving a rest stop near the exit when it was rear-ended by the pickup, according to the sheriff’s office. A 70-year-old man was driving the pickup truck and walked away with only minor scratches despite extensive damage to the cab of the truck, according to deputies. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, officers say. Deputies say citations were issued but that no one has been charged.
