Inmate accused of choking, punching other inmate

JACKSON, Tenn. — An inmate allegedly assaulted another inmate at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, putting him in a choke hold and punching him. Erving Jones allegedly got into a verbal exchange with another inmate that turned violent. According to a report from the sheriff’s office, Jones jumped on the other inmate, put him in a choke hold and hit him with his fists. The victim wants to press charges, according to the report.
