EAST JACKSON, Tenn. – It’s not homecoming at Lane College, but the Dragons are expecting hundreds of locals and alumni this upcoming weekend. The influx comes from the school’s sold out inaugural Dinner with the Pros at the Oman Arena on Saturday. “It seems to have sparked an interest. It’s very encouraging as a follow up to next year,” said athletic director Derrick Burroughs. “We should have 10-15 other professional athletes scattered around the arena.” Among those former stars is Super Bowl MVP and guest speaker Ray Lewis. Lewis will be joined by Olympic Gold medalist Rochelle Stevens, and other stars. The group of athletes will meet and greet attendees throughout the evening. “Everything we do, we want to represent Lane College in a positive way,” Burroughs added. “But the second thing we want to do is raise money for athletics.” The all-star weekend begins at 6 p.m. on Friday with an Celebrity basketball game at the school’s gymnasium. Tickets are $10. Doors to the Dinner with the Pros open at 6:30 p.m.
