Pro players hit the hardwood at Lane College
JACKSON, Tenn.-WBBJ 7 Eyewitness Sports Reporter Justin Walters took a break from the office to hit the hardwood at Lane College. Former NFL and NBA players were on hand for the event. The athletes are in town for the Lane College Benefit Dinner, which is Saturday night at Oman Arena.
The guest speaker for that event is 13 time All-Pro linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis. Lane’s athletic director Derek Burroughs said its nice to see the pros willing to give to the community. “It’s pretty cool but its good it feels even better knowing that can pick up the phone and call some of your old buddies and say I really need your help and they’re here so it’s a good thing,” said Burroughs. In case you are wondering Justin did not do too badly. In fact, he was Friday night’s MVP with 25 points.
