BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A former Benton County animal control officer has been indicted on theft and misconduct charges, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Holland Marie Craig was indicted Monday on one count of theft over $1,000 and one count of official misconduct, according to a TBI release. Craig, 30, of Bruceton, is accused of taking more than $3,600 from customers and county funds from July 2013 to July 2014 while working as a Benton County animal control officer, the release states. Craig did not properly deposit the money but instead used the funds for her own benefit, according to the release. Her employment was terminated in July 2014. Craig was booked into the Benton County Jail, and her bond is set at $10,000.
