JACKSON, Tenn. — Some local students are spending part of their summer learning about science, technology, engineering and math. Mayor Jerry Gist stopped by Wednesday to check out the STARS, or Striving Together and Reaching Success, summer STEM program, aimed at getting students more interested in these in-demand academic strengths. The program is sponsored by the nonprofit Delta Enrichment Life Training Academy.
