Man accused of pointing shotgun at girlfriend’s face

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man went before a judge Wednesday on accusations of pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend when she threatened to leave him. Jessie Rodgers’ girlfriend told police May 15 that Rodgers had pointed a shotgun at her face when she told him she wanted to end the relationship, according to an affidavit. She told officers he held the shotgun to her face and asked her if she still wanted to leave him, the document states. After begging him to stop, she said he turned the gun around and threatened to hit her with the stock, according to the affidavit. Rodgers is charged with aggravated domestic assault. He is being held in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
