Woman accused of stealing cash from man’s truck

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman appeared Thursday in city court after being charged with stealing a man’s wallet from his truck. Court papers say Dorothea Beasley is accused of entering a man’s truck and stealing $130 cash from his wallet. Police responded just after 1 p.m. Wednesday to North Fairgrounds Street where a man said he left a store and then saw a woman in his truck, according to an affidavit. The man told officers he got in his truck and followed the woman and later identified her as Beasley. Beasley is charged with theft from a motor vehicle. She is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
