JACKSON, Tenn. — The heat and humidity Thursday evening could not keep away exercise enthusiasts and supporters of the Arthritis Foundation. Sports Orthopedics and Spine held its “Bad to the Bones” 5K and one-mile walk near its office on Skyline Drive, with all proceeds benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Organizers said events like this one bring arthritis to the forefront. “Really, it’s just to create awareness for arthritis as there are a lot of people in this world that suffer from arthritis, and since I’m a orthopedist, that’s one of the main things we treat, ” said Dr. David Yakin, medical honoree for the Arthritis Foundation. Each of the more than 100 participants donated $25 to enter the event.
