GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Inmates in Gibson County are reaping the fruits of their labor — literally. In a new program offered by the sheriff’s office, inmates have planted and harvested from the jail’s first inmate-run garden over the past few months. According to the sheriff, they’re using it as a learning tool to rehabilitate inmates. Most of the plants and equipment were donated by local businesses. The food will be used for meals at the jail.
