UNION CITY, Tenn. — A Union City woman has been cited for animal cruelty after police say they seized 29 cats from inside her home. Officers conducted a search of the Russell Street home of Leslie Oliver, 56, Friday and found it to be unsafe to live in due to the amount of animal urine and feces, according to a report from the Union City Police Department. Dyer County agreed to take the adult cats, and an animal control officer seized two cats and three dogs to be tested for disease and treated if necessary. Oliver is scheduled to appear in court 2 p.m. Thursday.
