Man cited for illegal firework sales in Dyersburg

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A local business owner has been cited for illegal fireworks sales, according to police. Police were notified Monday of an advertisement of fireworks for sale at a downtown business, which is in violation of a city ordinance, according to a release from the Dyersburg Police Department. Officers spoke with the business owner, Roger Ferris, who admitted to buying fireworks for resale and showed them a display table of them, according to the release. Ferris was cited, and police seized the fireworks for evidence. The city ordinance forbids the manufacture, sale and discharge of fireworks in the city of Dyersburg, the release states.
