JACKSON, Tenn. — The city of Jackson awarded the mayor’s Civic Pride Awards for 2015 on Tuesday. The Civic Pride Awards program recognizes individuals, businesses and industries that exemplify the goals of keeping Jackson beautiful in their external appearance. Awards were given out in six categories. One of the winners says it’s good to know there’s people in the city who take pride in its appearance. “The city of Jackson we know has so many things to offer, but it’s so nice that people will take pride in their community and their property and that businesses, you know, will have everything that looks nice,” said award winner Teresa Stanford Crouse. Landscaping, beautification, preservation of green space, cleanliness and maintenance of grounds are all factors judges considered in designating Civic Pride winners.
