NORTH JACKSON — The 2015 Battle of the Badges winners were honored Thursday. The Jackson Police Department takes the trophy this year. For two weeks, first responders gave blood to try and reach the highest number of donations. According to Lifeline, more than 200 people participated. The police department says it’s excited about the honor. “It is a privilege for me to be able to accept this honor on behalf of the Jackson Police Department, the men and women, their friends and family that helped donate, and also the people in general that came in and donated in our name,” Capt. Mike Siler said. The Jackson Police Department had more than 63 people come out and donate blood.
