Vehicle strikes man in wheelchair near downtown

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A vehicle struck a man in a motorized wheelchair Monday and fled the scene, according to first responders. The man was hit at the intersection of Main Street and Highland Avenue around 1:20 p.m., according to paramedics on scene. First responders said police are trying to locate the driver. The condition of the man in the wheelchair is unknown at this time.
