Woman accused of punching niece during argument

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman appeared Thursday in Jackson City Court on allegations of assaulting a family member. Makeveia Hardin is accused of punching her niece in the face during an argument, according to an affidavit. Police responded Wednesday to a reported domestic disturbance at a Carver Avenue residence. The alleged victim told officers her aunt had punched her in the face after the two had been shouting at each other during an argument, the document states. The woman told police she did not remember how many times she had been hit in the face. Hardin is charged with simple domestic assault. Her bond is set at $1,000.
