Juvenile sends authorities on chase after assaulting DCS worker

HENDERSON, Tenn. — The Henderson Police Department has confirmed a juvenile being held by the Department of Children’s Services attacked a worker, stole her car and led authorities on a high-speed chase down Highway 45. According to investigators, the chase for the teen ended in Alcorn County, Miss., where he crashed the car and fled on foot. Authorities said the DCS worker received extensive injuries as a result of the attack and was airlifted to an area hospital. Henderson police confirm the juvenile currently is being held in Alcorn County awaiting charges that resulted after he crashed the car. They say he could face attempted murder, auto theft and escape charges once he’s extradited back to Tennessee.
