DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man was in city court Monday on accusations of assaulting his roommate and pouring sugar in the gas tank of someone’s car. Doyle Glen Mullikin appeared on three charges from July 1. Mullikin’s roommate told police he assaulted her by throwing keys and a cell phone case at her at their Whitehall Street residence and also that he had cut the cushions on her outdoor furniture, according to court papers. Mullikin is also accused of pouring sugar into a woman’s gas tank on the same day at the same address, causing the vehicle to have to be towed. Witnesses told police they had seen Mullikin walking away from the vehicle when they arrived, and police say the car owner had photos of sugar around the opening of the gas tank. Mullikin is charged with simple domestic assault and two counts of vandalism.
