Tractor-trailer flips on Highway 223 west of Jackson

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A tractor-trailer flipped onto its side in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on Highway 223. The call went out around 1:30 p.m. about a truck flipped over at the intersection of Highway 223 and Highway 70, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The truck had turned onto the southbound lane of Highway 223 from Highway 70 when it flipped, according to troopers on scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to the THP. The southbound lane of Highway 223 was shut down as a result of the accident. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, and the wreck is still under investigation.
