Suspect arrested in Gibson Co. hit-and-run

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A suspect in a weekend hit-and-run in Gibson County is taken into custody. Sheriff Paul Thomas told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News after hundreds of tips from the community, deputies have made an arrest and have the suspect vehicle. The driver’s name has not been released because charges have not been filed. Investigators said a driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of highways 187 and 79, hitting a motorcycle with Mike Doss and 9-year-old Paige Helton on it, then left the scene. Both Doss and Helton remain hospitalized.
