Benefactor awarded for philanthropy by JSCC

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local officials gathered Friday as Jackson State Community College honored a benefactor of the school with the Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy. Neta McKnight is this year’s recipient of the award, having been a longtime supporter of JSCC. McKnight developed and began the school’s radiography program in 1969, which was the first college-based associate degree radiography program in Tennessee and the third in the United States, according to the school. She also began the Neta and Bill McKnight Endowment and the Neta and Bill McKnight Scholarship for radiography students and has personally contributed to both.
