Gibson Co. man arrested on drug charge while free on bond

TRENTON, Tenn. — A man is in the Gibson County jail after police say they caught him with drugs while he was free on bond on a rape charge. Timothy Jelks was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say he fled on foot from a South College Street home. When officers caught up with Jelks, they say his shirt was wrapped around his waist concealing 25 grams of marijuana in small plastic bags. Jelks was free on bond on a rape charge from December, according to police. Jelks is charged with drug possession with intent to sell. He is being held in the Gibson County Correctional Complex in lieu of a $250,000 bond. His court date is set for July 16.
