GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Volunteer firefighters in Gibson County are looking for the public’s help to make some much needed repairs to one of their stations. The Tyson Community Fire Department has been in place for more than 20 years. The county furnishes new trucks and equipment while the community of Tyson is responsible for the upkeep of their station. The Tyson Fire Department currently has the most active volunteers of any station in Gibson County, with more than 30. Now those who protect and serve their community every day are asking for a bit of help themselves. In recent years, the station has fallen into disrepair with multiple leaking roofs and a floor that is sinking into the ground that could eventually lead to the department not being able to store their trucks in the station. If you’d like to help the station with repairs, you can make a donation to the Tyson Volunteer Fire Department at First State Bank in Kenton.
