Volunteers team up to help feed families in need

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Volunteers from Lexington team up with a shelter in Humboldt to give back. Volunteers from the Shiloh Distribution Center worked Saturday with the Free Will Shelter to host a food giveaway in Humboldt. Individuals had the opportunity to pick up bags of food at no charge. Organizers said they hope this will become an annual event in the area. “I hope that they understand that charity starts at home,” said Vivian Frey, a volunteer. “Not just us doing it, because we wanted to spread a bond that when they received they will reciprocate and give to others.” The shelter frequently teams up with local churches in the area to distribute free food to families in need.
